They say this despite being 一人で. たとえば、when going home from work they'll say to their coworkers 「かえりましょう」despite only them being the only person leaving. 

These regional differences are very interesting to see and is also very true in English too. How we speak English here can be very different that what is heard in おスタラリアね.
